Dear NAAM Members,
Can you believe it? It seems like summer and all of our automotive events across the country just started, and yet here we are almost at the beginning of fall and starting to wrap up some of our final events of the year!
I know for many of you there are so many projects to catch up on, vehicles to be worked on, exhibits to be created or refreshed, and holiday events to be planned.
Your NAAM Board of Directors continue to be hard at work during the entire year and we are excited that we will all be gathering in Auburn, Indiana at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum for a strategic planning retreat in November. This retreat is an opportunity for your Board to work together with a professional facilitator to establish the goals and priorities for the next several years of NAAM. Part of this planning will be including you, our members, in our discussions and decision making to ensure that this organization is well poised for the future and remains committed to the automotive museum community. We will be seeking input from our members through some surveys and would love to hear what we can do better to serve you and what you would like to see from NAAM in the future.
We are also excited to begin the formal planning of the 2025 Annual Conference. In this month’s newsletter you will see an announcement with the dates and location of our next conference. I am excited to share that we will be returning to the Petersen Automotive Museum in California, which last hosted our organization in 2014. I promise you this will be a very memorable experience, and the conference is one of the many great benefits of being a member of NAAM.
Thank you for all you and your institutions do for the automotive museum world and for your membership and support of NAAM. I look forward to seeing you out on the road, at the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival, or the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance!
